Configuration errors can occur when connecting or re-authenticating advertising platforms such as Google Ads and Meta. These errors are commonly related to account permissions, security settings, or required terms and conditions.
🔴 Google Ads — “Configuration Error: undefined”
What does this mean?
A “Configuration Error: undefined” message may appear when attempting to connect a Google Ads account.
One common cause is insufficient permissions for the Google Ads account being connected.
How to resolve it
- Log in to the relevant Google Ads account.
- Go to Admin → Access and security.
- Locate the Google account/user being used to connect the account.
- Confirm that the user has Admin-level access.
- If the user has Standard, Read-only, or Email-only access, update their permissions to Admin.
- Return to Pearl Diver and try connecting or configuring the Google Ads account again.
Important: Admin-level access may be required for Pearl Diver to successfully configure the Google Ads integration.

🔵 Meta — “Configuration Error: General Configuration”
What does this mean?
A “Configuration Error: General Configuration” message may indicate that the Meta advertising account has an account-level permission or security requirement that has not been completed.
Two common causes are:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) is not enabled
- Meta's required terms and conditions have not been accepted
How to resolve it
Step 1 — Check Two-Factor Authentication
- Log in to the relevant Meta account.
- Check the account's security settings.
- Confirm that two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled for the relevant user(s).
- If 2FA is not enabled, activate it.
- Return to Pearl Diver and try configuring the Meta integration again.
Step 2 — Accept Meta's Terms and Conditions
- Log in to the relevant Meta Business/Ads account.
- Check for any outstanding terms, conditions, or agreements that require acceptance.
- Accept any outstanding requirements.
- Return to Pearl Diver and retry the integration.
🔵 Meta — “Configuration Error: undefined”
What does this mean?
A “Configuration Error: undefined” message may occur when attempting to connect or re-authenticate a Meta integration.
The exact cause may vary depending on the account configuration, permissions, or authentication status.
How to resolve it
- Confirm that the user connecting the Meta account has the required permissions.
- Confirm that 2FA is enabled where required.
- Check whether there are any outstanding Meta terms or conditions that need to be accepted.
- Re-authenticate the Meta integration.
